ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT (30 HOURS/WEEK)

Good Shepherd Community provides housing to independently living senior residents. We need an assistant who can provide administrative support to a managerial office as well as provide general support to residents and visitors. Position is 30 hours per week.

RESPONSIBILITIES:                              

  • Clerical duties may consist of answering the phone, photocopying, faxing, emailing, sort mail, and other tasks associated with office procedures.
  • Provide general support to visitors and residents.
  • Report work orders to the maintenance department via computer.
  • Coordinate repairs to office equipment and order supplies as needed.
  • Organize, file, and confidentially handle sensitive information.
  • Monitor camera systems to ensure the safety of the building and our residents.
  • Keep marketing materials replenished and ready for visitors and tours.
  • Distribute printed materials to residents and throughout the property as needed.

SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proven work experience as an administrative assistant or similar role;
  • Great customer service, smiles are welcome.
  • Hands-on experience with office equipment (e.g. copiers, scanners, postage meter, and printers).
  • Candidate should have proficient computer and typing skills and should be especially proficient in Word.
  • LIHTC (Low Income Tax Credit) experience is a plus.
  • This position involves sitting; however, the dispersal of printed materials and other tasks involve a great deal of walking at times.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High school degree or equivalent.

Full-time position (30 hours/week), 10AM to 4PM, M-F, Day shift. Rate of Pay: $16.00 per hour.

LIGHT MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN

Join our maintenance team as a Light Maintenance Technician at Good Shepherd Community, where you can serve a great community of senior retirees. We are looking for a technician who would enjoy being part of our maintenance crew, performing maintenance and repairs in our 500-unit apartment facility located in Little Rock, Arkansas.

General duties will include a wide variety of maintenance-related tasks, which can include apartment make-readies, light plumbing, electrical, and providing transportation services to our seniors.

Qualifications and Responsibilities:

  • Previous maintenance experience;
  • Good communication skills;
  • Ability to handle the physical workload;
  • Be deadline and detail-oriented.
  • Have the ability to use our mobile facilities app (cell phone and training provided).
  • Complete work orders in a timely fashion;
  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance.
  • Participate in maintaining materials and supply inventory.
  • 1-week on-call duty for after-hours and weekend emergencies, approximately once every 3-4 weeks.
  • Excellent customer service skills are a must.
  • High school diploma or equivalent education.

Current Arkansas driver’s license and motor vehicle records check required.

Good Shepherd provides uniforms and tools.

The work schedule is M-F, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. plus on-call duties approximately every 3 to 4 weeks. Rate of pay is $15/hour.

MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN with DRIVING

Good Shepherd Community is searching for a maintenance technician to join our maintenance team serving senior residents in a 500-apartment facility. This individual must possess experience in a variety of maintenance skills and be capable of performing repairs on a wide variety of appliances and mechanical systems which can include—light electrical & mechanical repairs, plumbing, and other systems operated by Good Shepherd. This position will serve as a driver to transport our senior residents to and from shopping, two times per week, or as directed by the supervisor, after completing our required safety training.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Perform maintenance work from service requests promptly and professionally;
  • Assist with maintaining parts, tools, and inventory;
  • Safely transport residents to and from their regularly scheduled shopping excursions in our 13-passenger van 2 times per week or as directed by the supervisor (wheelchair lift experience is a plus);
  • Oversee work performed by outside contractors, as needed;
  • Perform week-long on-call duty for emergencies every 4-5 weeks in rotation with other team members. (Employee should be able to arrive at Good Shepherd within 30 minutes for these emergencies);
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to perform facilities maintenance and repairs on a wide variety of appliances and mechanical systems;
  • A valid driver’s license and clean driving record;
  • Non-emergency passenger transport preferred;
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills;
  • Experience in working with elderly persons and/or individuals with disabilities preferred (wheelchair lift experience is a plus).
  • High School Diploma or GED required.

Good Shepherd employees must exercise good judgment and show flexibility when there are changes to routine or emergencies arising during their workday. All duties are to be carried out with kindness and in a professional manner.

SCHEDULE: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., on-call for emergencies on rotation with other techs.
