Cottage Gardens: Built with Seniors in Mind

The Cottages of Good Shepherd have constructed two gardens especially with our senior residents in mind.  Unlike the lawn and flowerbed areas maintained by Good Shepherd, these gardens are for residents of the Cottages who still love gardening in their retirement.  The raised flowerbed sections boast wide ledges perfectly placed for sitting so residents don’t have to bend and stoop while planting or watering. The west garden is home to beautiful flowering plants, while the east garden is home to vegetables and herbs. Common tools are provided and kept on-site so no one has to bring their own tools to work in the garden. Both gardens are topped with shade gazebos and benches for relaxing or visiting.   It’s a beautiful addition to the neighborhood. #retirementcommunity #independentliving #seniorliving
